Athens prepares to send draft budget to Brussels, lines up next tax measures
The government is hoping to wrap up on Monday the budget negotiations it has been having over the last few weeks with the European institutions so next year’s draft economic plan can be submitted to the European Commission on Tuesday.
It is not clear yet if the draft 2020 budget will still point to a small fiscal gap next year or whether the latest round of talks will lead to this shortfall being bridged. Reports on Monday suggested that the gap stood at 150-300 million euros.
